Angel Tree & Everett ElemenTree

This year we’ll have our traditional Angel Tree, plus another tree for collecting hats, scarves, mittens, and gloves for people in need. They’ll be in the Great Hall beginning Sunday, November 22. You also have the option to donate to Angel Tree online!

Here are some ways you can help:
1. Choose a tag or tags from the tree in the Great Hall and write your name and contact info on the gift list. Purchase and wrap your gifts, then place them under the Angel Tree by December 15.
2. Donate here through December 5 and we’ll do the shopping. Make sure to designate your gift to go to Angel Tree.
3. Help shop for gifts for those who donated online.
4. Help wrap gifts that were purchased.
5. Help deliver gifts to our Angel Tree families.
6. Donate and decorate our second tree with new and gently used hats, scarves, gloves, and mittens.

Sparkle Box

Join the Messiah Family in this unique way to celebrate the birth of Jesus, based on the award-winning book, The Sparkle Box: A Gift with the Power to Change Christmas. Pick up a Sparkle Box for your household on Sundays in the Great Hall or weekdays at the Main Office. School families will receive theirs on Tuesday. Your box will include a link to a video reading of the story, fun resources, and ideas to make your experience special.
What will you put in your Sparkle Box?
Throughout the weeks leading up to Christmas, write down the things you and your family have done to serve others in Jesus’ honor and put them in your box. Will you help a friend or someone in your family, give to someone in need, or volunteer? Be creative and think of things that will make Jesus happy!
Place your Sparkle Box under your Christmas tree, on your mantle, or in a prominent place in your house. On Christmas morning open your Sparkle Box and read your gifts out loud. Bask in the warm glow of light that comes from giving a gift to the greatest gift of all: Jesus Christ!
The King will reply, “Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brother and sisters of mine, you did for me.” —Matthew 25:40

An Advent Series by Scott Guenther

We recorded some staff members sharing their favorite Christmas memories and we’ll release those videos after Thanksgiving. In one of those videos, Scott Guenther shares a memory of Christmas stories he read in the newspaper when he was young. Nostalgia got the best of him, so he wrote a Christmas story as a gift to all! We’ll release the first chapter of the story on December 1st, and each day you’ll get the next chapter to read by yourself, or with your family. The story will end on Christmas Eve.
